UPDATE 1.40 ================= FEATURES - Added a new map - Highway Tampa. - Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved. - Titans will now spawn up to two gunships per side - Squad Leaders no longer have to resupply to re-equip destroyed drones CHANGES - Exploit Fix: hardcoded the time limits of Orbital and EMP strikes. - RDX Shotgun now detonates RDX, Motion Mines, AP Mines with minimum of 2 rounds. - Ported EU Assault Rifle changes to the Best Buy unlock as well. - Fixed LMG Left/Right Recoil - Revised EU Assault Rifle Recoil - Increased Clark rate of fire to match Herzog - Fixed PAC shotgun attachment recoil to match other Herzogs - Further adjustment to Squad Leader drones to prevent them accidentally killing the Squad Leader when deployed - Further fix to prevent "pod surfing". Note that some pod movement will still be possible and is an intended gameplay mechanic to allow the player to have some small choice of landing site and to access rooftops - Smoke from the CM3-N Radar Grenade deploys more quickly. The Radar range has been slightly increased and endures for the duration of the smoke effect. - The CM3-N Radar Grenade may now be resupplied. - The screening effectiveness of all smoke grenades has been significantly improved. - Adjusted Talon heat source position to improve Gunship missile balance. - Beta Feedback: Fixed the placement of an AA gun on Highway Tampa - Beta Feedback: Improved the visuals of the swimming pool on Highway Tampa

Wrong patch?!........

I recently installed the beta version of 1.4 from a website (i forgot whatitsname) and it seemed that i cannot excess anymore server other than the 4 servers in the beta 1.4 . They are :
Official 1.40 Beta Final Server - LA ->72.51.45.10: 16567
Highway_Tampa (48 player mode) (gpm_ti)

Official 1.40 Beta Final Server - Raleigh ->216.27.83.163: 17567
Highway_Tampa (48 player mode) (gpm_ti)

EA Official 1.40 Beta Final Server - Virginia ->64.34.184.13: 16567
Highway_Tampa (48 player mode) (gpm_ti)

and i forgot the last server's info and IP address but its game type is gpm_ti with the maps of Verdun and Suez Canal and its a 50 player mode.

The problem dosent only occur to me; there are also other battlefield 2142 users playing in these servers and has been asking for help. Please help us poor souls!!!

Problem rectified......

I followed your instruction but it still failed; i downloaded the poatch and when i tried to install it, it told me that i got a newer patch than the current one......

Hence, i used option 2: Uninstall and install bf2142 again and download the patch. I know it sucks but this is the only way......

Just my 2 cents, be careful where you d/l the patch from as some places still have the "beta final" version that was having all the issues back in November. I d/l'ed it and it gave me the "there is a newer version available" error, but showed v1.4 on the login screen.
You'll know if it's the right one b/c it'll have more than 4 servers listed. btw why would EA still be running "offical" servers for a beta patch but not the updated version?

The last time i used (21 jan 200 before i downloaded the right patch, the servers aren't running anymore

So a warning to the rest of the bf2142 players out there: if unsure which patch to downlaod, always refer to your manual or from the offical ea website at

Yea, those look like what I had. I just went to largedownloads.ea.com and did a little digging and found it, there's also a big thread on EA's Battlefield 2142 forum about all the issues. I didn't play the game for a long time (like 6 mo.) b/c I didn't even know they had released patches for it.
